Thought that this needed to be put out there this week. It truly feels like a loss after how poorly Ohio State played on Saturday. The problem is that it wasn’t, no matter how much it felt like it. In 2002 there were lots of those close games that didn’t feel like a loss. In 2006 not very many games felt close from what I remember and look where that ended up. I think that this team can grow from this loss.
I am worried by some things but not ready to gleam the season a disaster and be done with it quite yet. Wind, ok seriously?
I know wind affects a game but to not do anything because you are afraid of it just begs the question why? I was semi worrried before the game that we would try to “prove” the point that we could run the ball, mainly because Stoneburner was out not givng us a viable third receiving option. I am now sold on the fact that Brandon Saine needs to run routes as I think thats where he can be more effictive. Thus, enabling Ohio State to get more touches for the tandem of Jordan Hall and Jamall Berry. Who both hit the hole and go, and could go the distance. I again am semi worried as Stoneburner is not full go this week and if they feel the need to give Pryor “time to heal” while still playing. It was obvious that in the first four games we were a passing team, live with it. The running game will come when they have to stop our passing game.
Through this all I am glad I am an Ohio State fan and that we can find a way to complain about being 5-0 and as if the season has no hope. It shows the standards are high and that they need to stay that way.
